Hey, welcome to my site. My name is Jonathan Luc (pronounced “Luke”) Hostetler – that’s me over there to the right. Well actually it’s not me, it’s my picture. But anyway…
Contrast is one word that could be used to describe me. I love to spend time with computers, and I also like being away from digital technology. I have a lot of fun persuading people and selling products and ideas, and I also like encouraging people that they are great just the way they are. I’m a fanatic about God and His Word, and… well okay, there’s no contrast with that one!
I enjoy the comforts and luxuries of life, and I also find it exciting to live with only the bare necessities. And the list goes on.
When it really comes to down to it, what drives me and inspires me most is the truth of God’s Word (both written and spoken) and the personal guidance of the Holy Spirit in my life. I’ve been surrounded with God and His Word pretty much all my life, but it took my own desire to discover who He is and who I am because of Him, to bring me to where I am today. It is not my goal to be unusual or controversial, but as I stand fast to my belief in God and His Word, at times people perceive me to be unusual and controversial. I am who I am.
Really, I just love living on this earth, because God has given me hope for the future, and peace for the present. Heaven will be awesome, but we were made by God for more than heaven… these bodies in which we dwell were designed to thrive and prosper on this earth!
I enjoy traveling. I was born in Chad (Africa), where my parents served as missionaries. I was about 3 years old when we left, so I don’t remember much about Chad. But since then, I’ve been to France, Germany, Israel, Zimbabwe, and Kenya. And I hope to someday visit a friend in the U.K., explore the continent of Australia, and learn to play bagpipes in either Scotland or Ireland.
I’ve worked at the Apple Store in Park City Center, Lancaster, as a sales specialist. And I drove a semi truck for 4 months in the summer of 2011. I also create websites on the side, mostly my own sites, but I’ve made a few for friends. Here are some of my own websites that I’ve built…
- How To Experience The Bible… helping you discover how well God’s Word fits into your life
- Jonathan Hostetler… the site you’re visiting now :)
- Corinthians The Movie… experience the books of 1st and 2nd Corinthians visually, on video (my friend, Gavin Sauder from Sauder Movies, and I created the movie and the website together)
- Best Balloon Suppliers… info about balloons and where to buy them
- Tent Buying Guide… helping you find the right tent for your next outdoor adventure
- Fun With Healthy Food… because it’s fun to be healthy!
- Easy Gumbo Recipes… a couple gumbo recipes that are easy to make.
- Flip Flop Shopping Tips… helping you find a pair of flip flops that meets your needs.
And here are some websites I’ve put together for other people…
- Cheri Showalter… independent Christian musician from eastern Pennsylvania
- Del Burkholder Ministries… Christ-centered prison ministry
- Pat’s Mobile Detailing… really good mobile detailer
My current goal is to create 40 ad-supported websites that offer helpful, relevant information, and that provide me with a consistent flow of monthly income. Once I have enough passive income coming in each month, my dream is to travel around the USA and the world, encouraging Believers and being encouraged.
So that’s a bit about me. The best way to get to know me is to connect with me on facebook.
Thanks for dropping by! Stay happy, expect miracles, and love the Lord.
Best wishes,
